This program is designed for educators from preschool through high school, paraprofessionals and administrators in education. This useful course will give you enough conversational Spanish and grammar structure to help you not only on the language aspect, but upon creating a better cultural understanding with students and their families who have Spanish as their first language and speak little or no English. In addition to learning academic Spanish, educators will learn popular expressions used by their students and families.

Components of the Program
Intensive Spanish Language Class

You will be placed in small Spanish classes, grouped according to your level of Spanish fluency and ability to communicate. This class will help you gain skills in speaking, reading and writing in Spanish. Writing and reading assignments reinforce students' Spanish language and expose them to key elements of the culture. You will review grammar and vocabulary and continue learning new words and grammar rules. The groups consist of no more than 5 students, small group classes are designed to facilitate interaction among all learners in the group.

Conversational Spanish

This component is designed to improve students' listening and conversational Spanish Language skills and cultural awareness, also you will learn the vocabulary and phrases necessary to communicate with Spanish-speaking students and parents.

Role play in Spanish

This component is an authentic activity and meaningful activity. Not only will students be developing language skills, you will encourage to use role play as a platform to create meaningful conversations about real-life issues, everyday scenarios and different cultural perspectives, it features vocabulary and phrases to use during parent-teacher conferences, enrollment, classroom situations, taking attendance, discipline issues, and more.
